How much does the state pay for child care expenses?

Heather R asked:

There is a lady that would like me to watch her 1 year old son and the state pays for it and I was wondering if it would even be worth my time, does anyone know how much they pay per hr, day, or week? I live in Michigan if that helps.

The state only pays a subsidy of the childcare depending on how much money the parent makes. My daycare provider charges $90 a week and two of the parents use state funds to pay her. One pays nothing and the other pays $20. I think the max the state will pay here per child per week is $90. (I live in Indiana)

I live in California and the sate helps me pay for child care. They will pay up to $130 a week which my daughters school charges. Then based on my income I have to pay a percentage back to the state every month. The agency I go through is Children’s Home Society. Based on my income I have to pay $7.10 every day that my daughter is in school. SO I pay between $150 and $170 a month depending on how many schools days in a month
